What you get with each plan
Free tier: full privacy, zero commitment
The free tier gives you the Overview dashboard with total spending, receipt count, returns tracking, and gas statistics. All data processing happens entirely in your browser using IndexedDB. Your receipt data never leaves your device, and no account or login is required. Import unlimited receipts, export your data as JSON for backup, and use ReceiptsLab for as long as you want with no time limits or trial periods.
This tier is ideal if you want a quick snapshot of your spending without creating yet another online account. Since everything runs locally, there is zero latency on analytics calculations and your financial data stays completely private.
Premium: the complete analytics suite
Premium unlocks all 7 analytics dashboards so you can go deeper into your spending habits. The Trends tab shows monthly and weekly spending patterns over time. Items & Prices lets you track your most-purchased products and see how prices change across trips. Categories breaks down spending by department so you can see exactly how much goes to groceries, electronics, clothing, and more. Trips & Warehouses compares spending across different store locations. Gas Analytics tracks fuel costs, gallons purchased, and price-per-gallon trends. Taxes & Rewards estimates your executive membership reward earnings and tracks tax totals.
Premium also includes cloud storage so your data syncs across all your devices. Access your analytics from your phone, tablet, or desktop without worrying about browser data being cleared. Your receipt history is retained indefinitely in the cloud, giving you years of spending data to analyze rather than being limited by what retailers keep in their systems.

The free tier answers "how much did I spend?" while Premium answers "where is my money going and how is that changing over time?" If you shop at Costco regularly, the Trends and Items dashboards alone can reveal spending patterns you might not notice otherwise. Supported retailers
ReceiptsLab currently supports Costco warehouse (in-store) and Costco online receipts, with both formats automatically detected during import. Support for Amazon, Target, and Walmart is on our near-term roadmap. Adding a new retailer does not require any action from existing users. Your existing receipt data and analytics remain untouched as new retailers are added.
Data privacy and security
Both tiers scrub personally identifiable information (payment card digits, membership numbers) from receipt data before storage. Free tier data never leaves your browser. Premium tier data is stored in encrypted cloud databases with access restricted to your authenticated account. You can export or permanently delete all your data at any time from the Settings page.
